Hi guys! We are well into spring– and here in Miami we are already on spring break. I wanted to share a few of my spring break must-haves. Whether I travel or not, these are products that fill up my makeup bag in this season Most of these are drugstore finds because I wanted give you affordable options. Also, these are true and tested products that are amazing and that really work well. Happy spring! xo

1. Philip Kingsley Swimcap$35– You have heard me talk about this product many times here on the blog and in some magazines. This product is hands downone of the best sun protectors for your hair on the market. Why? because it literally acts like a swimcap for your hair. This creamy, protecting potion adheres to wet hair and serves as a shield against the horrifying effects of chlorine, saltwater and UV rays. Block these environmental factors known to promote breakage, color fading and dryness by running Swimcap through damp hair *before going swimming* and let this nourishing and protecting fine cream do the rest.

2. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat$6.50- This is a new fave for me. I have been a OPI, Essie and Deborah Lippmann devotee for years until a friend recommended this top coat. I kid you not when I say this makes your nails look like glass! It is sooo shiny and makes your manicure last super long due to it’s chip-resistant formula. Also, it dries your nails to the touch in about 3 minutes.

3. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color in Pink Blink$5.50- The people at Sally Hansen got fast drying right. This nail polish does exactly what it says: it dries in 60 seconds, provides one coat coverage and it contains no DBP, toluene or free formaldehyde. It also comes in a rainbow of colors sure to please. My current fave is Pink Blink, a beautiful, pastel bubble-gum pink perfect for spring!

4. Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer Face and Body Sticks$10.99- Neutrogena®introduces the new ULTRA SHEER® and BEACH DEFENSE®Sunscreen Sticks SPF 70, providing superior sun protection for face and body in a convenient, no-mess stick. The stick never feels sticky or greasy and layers on invisibly—great for on-the-go protection through the day. It is also water and sweat resistant, so it is perfect for working out or hitting the beach. I personally use this before applying my makeup and it glides on flawlessly without getting oily or looking uneven.

5. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti, $7.49- In the spring, I love beautiful, bright shades that hydrate and don’t overpower my look. I love these lip butters because they give off sheer, yet buildable color that is shiny, but not sticky and ultra hydrating. I gravitate toward these when the weather gets warmer simply because they feel delicious on my lips. This color is absolutely gorgeous if you want to try the on trend orange lip, yet you are a bit afraid of a brighter, bolder orange.

6. Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin BB Cream in Light/Medium$12.99- I love the idea of this productIn a nutshell, the B.B. Cream is a hybrid formula that offers advanced skincare plus immediate skin perfecting coverage in one single beauty product. This is my daily go-to product instead of foundation because of the hydrating and SPF benefits and because it evens out my skin and offers a very light coverage. It is fabulous with a bit of bronzer, mascara and a lip butter.

7. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp$6– I Like this product because it is neither lipstick nor lip gloss. This is a new kind of lip color that is ultra-lightweight, goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish perfect for sunbathing poolside. Soft Matte Lip Cream is very durable and, unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing. This color is a lovely yellow-toned, coral pink that will transition beautifully into summer.

There you have it! I hope my go-to products inspire you to switch up your look for spring. 😉

Disclaimer: I can’t guarantee that all of the makeup, hair and skincare products I recommend will suit you. I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on myself and my clients. Please keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different and it is possible to be allergic or sensitive to certain products. Whenever possible, please test products out before purchasing.

As you guys know, I’ve been doing hair for a really loong time, and have been talking about doing some tutorials for you for quite a while. So, I finally found the time to do this and I am THRILLED to show you guys how I get my clients date night ready with this easy, sexy hairstyle. For this tutorial, I will be focusing on medium (bob-length) hair. I will be doing some textured waves that look sexy and lived in. Follow the steps below and then let me know in the comments which hairstyle you’d like to see next!

Step 1: Begin with clean, blown out hair. For this style you will need: a comb, 3 hair clips, 1.25 curling iron or wand, heat protectant spray, texture spray (or dry shampoo) and flexible hold hairspray.

Step 2: Section off the hair into 2 parts. Then, I like to section off each side from temple to temple. This will make it easier to manage the hair. Make sure the section you are not working on is clipped away.

Step 3: Start by spraying each section with heat protectant spray. Holding the flat iron diagonally, begin by clipping the hair in the flat iron and slowly sliding the hair through. If you want a more natural loose wave, begin curling midway, if you want a curlier look, curl closer to your roots. Here, I chose to curl all the hair in the same direction (away from her face) but you can also choose to alternate the curls for more texture. Make sure to leave the ends out of the iron for a textured, lived-in look.

Step 4: Repeat on the opposite side, curling away from the face.

Step 5: Once you have curled all the bottom half, release the right, front section and curl away from the face. Repeat on the opposite side.

Step 6: If you want perfect looking curls you may leave them as is, but I prefer to shake them out and lightly run my fingers through the hair to break them up for a “lived in” look. I finalize the look by lightly spraying with a texture spray or dry shampoo and then a light mist of hairspray for added hold. There you have it, easy, sexy date night hair!

CHANTAL’S ANTI-AGING GUIDE

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could turn back time and simultaneously reverse skin damage brought on from sun exposure, sleepless nights (ahem, partying too hard… guilty…) and wearing too much makeup? Well, now we can turn back the years with this easy to follow guide. Since we’re all guilty of at least one of the above mentioned skin debauchery, I am beyond excited to share my thoughts, tips and tricks with you guys. Read on and stay forever young!

1. Minimize Your Pores. Pores expand as goo accumulates in them— unfortunately, the older we get, the more likely they are to stay expanded giving you the dreaded large pore complex… Put them in check by switching to a cleanser containing salicylic acid. This will help exfoliate away dead skin that usually leads to clogged pores.

2. ZZZ! Get more sleep. The necessary sleep time for a rested visage, is 8 hours. Clearly, we all don’t get that much rest. But, I find that just going to bed 15 minutes earlier each day for a week you’ll quickly establish a new routine and gain about an extra hour of beauty sleep, leading to less dark circles. Also, for my night owls, try not to exercise 3 hours before bed and quit the coffee by 4pm.

3. Rip it Good. Shrink and clear pores like the ones on your chin and nose using pore strips once a week. Also, indulge in a yummy face mask once a week for a radiant complexion.

4. Look on The Bright Side. As we age, cell turnover (the ability of our skin to shed dead skin cells and look younger) slows down, resulting in wrinkles and dull skin. Sweep them away by using an at-home glycolic peel twice a week. This will give your skin a healthy, youthful glow.

5. Don’t Neglect your Hands and Neck. A clear tell-tale sign of aging are neglected hands and neck. I usually do the same for my hands and neck as I do for my face. Exfoliate twice a week, wear sunscreen every morning, and an anti-aging cream especially for hands or the same one used on your face at night. If you’ve developed pesky sun spots, treat them with Hydroquinone–a product used to lighten skin discolorations like age spots and freckles. And, don’t forget a manicure. Nothing says “I take care of myself” like beautifully manicured hands.

6. Take Supplements and Antioxidants. These are your “internal” secret weapons against pollution. The most effective are Idebenone- A stimulant that increases brain energy levels and has a rejuvenating effect on the whole body, Green Tea- which contains Vitamin B and Vitamin C. An adequate amount of Vitamin B, especially B12 is key for skin regeneration. Vitamin C is essential in the production of collagen, a protein which enhances the firmness of skin and helps your skin repair itself, and Coffeeberry- which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and reduces redness and skin pigmentation.

7. Never, Ever Sleep in Your Makeup. Nighttime is when our skin rests and repairs itself. This is also when it absorbs all of the anti-aging goodies we put on it. So why would you want to have your skin absorb all of the dirt, grime and makeup from the day? Um, no thank you. Make sure to develop a nighttime cleansing routine and for those party-hardy nights when you’re just too partied out (guilty..) to do it, keep some makeup removing wipes handy for a quick clean up.

8. Don’t Over Tweeze your Eyebrows. Been there, done that…Nothing screams “older woman” than overly tweezed eyebrows. If you find yourself in this predicament, bite the bullet and “wolf” it out for a few months until your brows have grown in some. Then, seek professional help (unless you are tweezer savvy) and get them shaped for a more flattering, youthful look.

9. Finally, Wear SPF. Nothing deteriorates the skin more than the sun. Looking like you’ve dipped in a bag of Doritos isn’t flattering and it is the #1 cause for wrinkles and skin cancer. Choose products that contain at least an SPF 15 and re-apply after 2 hours of exposure. Also, a great alternative to looking like a baked lobster is self-tanner. Choose one that is one shade darker than your skin tone for a flattering, natural sun-kissed look.

A beauty expert one of the things I am constantlypreaching about to clients is to curl their lashes. Most women have never tried curling their lashes, or have had a negative experience with a lash curler. Curling your lashes is the most effective way to get ooh la la eyes and perfect looking lashes. When lashes are straight, they tend to curtain the eyes and make them look smaller. When they are swept upward, more of the iris is revealed and your eyes seem larger and more dazzling. No worries my beauties, I did the homework for you and found the BEST lash curler out there (and believe me when I tell you I’ve tried many…) it is the Blinc Heated Lash Curler. Yes, I said heated, and while you may have already tried other heated varieties, there is none other like this.

Conventional curlers clamp, dent and use excessive pressure that can damage or even break your lashes. For years, I found myself using a blow-dryer to heat up my lash curler only to burn my skin. and end up with dented lashes. That being said, i believe nothing is better than heat to set a long lasting curl. The challenge is to deliver the precise amount of heat – too much can dry out your lashes, and too little will not set a long lasting curl.

Why I Love It: Blinc’s Heated Lash Curler is super simple to use and shapes lashes safely in seconds. Its innovative design delivers a precise amount of heat, while making it easy to reach even the tiniest lashes. Its sleek, compact size makes it easy to carry, even in the smallest purse. It’s temperature control mechanism and protective contact guard ensures its safe use. Your lashes will show extravagant curves that will last all day! So, go ahead and give it a try then maybe, just maybe I can preach about something else eh?

Availability: Blinc’s Heated Lash Curler ($25). For additional product information and retailer information, visit www.blincinc.com

How to Get the Perfect Party Look https://new.chantalsauvignon.com/how-to-get-the-perfect-party-look/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-get-the-perfect-party-look Fri, 01 Mar 2019 03:40:40 +0000 http://new.chantalsauvignon.com/?p=8882 The post How to Get the Perfect Party Look appeared first on Chantal Sauvignon.

Follow this easy step-by step guide to recreate this beautiful, glowing skin look with soft, shimmering highlights that’s sure to turn heads.

Photos courtesy of Paul Cobo, www.paulcobophotography.com
Model- Misty Ma’a Next Models Miami www.nextmanagement.com

1. Prep the Skin

Begin by thoroughly cleansing the skin by using a beauty balm. Follow with moisturizer, lip balm and a hydrating eye cream. Finally, get the skin ready for the makeup application by using a primer all over the face and an eye primer on the eyes.

Products:

Eve Lom Cleanser, $80
Clinique Moisture Surge, $38
Shiseido Benefiance Eye Contour Cream, $55
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, $52
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, $12

2. Foundation, Contouring and Highlighting

Apply a foundation color that complements your skin tone. Then, use a darker shade of foundation or concealer (one or two shades darker at most) to contour the top of the forehead where the hairline meets the skin, the temples, the sides of the nose and the tip, the inner eye where the bridge of the nose meets the brow bone, underneath the cheekbones, the indentation above the cupid’s bow and the jawline. Next, apply a lighter concealer (typically a shade lighter than your skin tone to keep it looking natural) underneath the eyes, at the sides of the nostrils, from the forehead to the bridge of the nose, on the center of the chin, on the sides of the mouth, on the cupid’s bow and under the cheek contouring.

The next step is to blend the colors using a foundation brush to harmonize the darker and lighter shades with the initial foundation color. Make sure to use a separate brush to blend the contour and another for your highlights to avoid a muddy look. Also, make sure to move the brush in soft, circular motions for optimal blending. Once it is all seamlessly blended, set the center of the forehead, nose and sides of the nose and chin with a light dusting of translucent powder, so as not to change the color of the foundation.

Products:

L’oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup, $11
L’oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter, $13
Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder, $52
Real Techniques Core Collection Brushes, $18

3. Eyes and Eyebrows

Start by applying a beige eye shadow as a base. Next, apply a warm, matte brown shade to the crease to create definition. This warm brown shade will also serve as what is called a transition color. Basically, a transition color is a shade that helps “transition or blend” your colors from light to dark creating a gradient effect. Then, go back into the lid and apply a light dusting of a shimmery gold eye shadow for a bit of subtle glamour. Lastly, apply a darker, matte brown shade to the outer corners of the eyes.

For the eyebrows, using an angled brush with stiff bristles apply a medium matte brown shade to the brows to fill in any gaps and balance out the shape. to finalize the eyes, apply black liquid liner to the top lash line to create fullness along the lashes and add definition to the eyes. Then, curl the lashes and apply a few generous coats of black waterproof mascara. Using a soft brown eyeliner, line the bottom lash line making sure to blend the line out to create a nice smoky effect. Finally, add a delicate champagne color highlight in the inner corner of the eyes to brighten and freshen up the look.

Products:

Lorac Pro Palette, $42
Real Techniques Starter Kit, $18
Shiseido Eyelash Curler, $18
Benefit They’re Real! Mascara, $23
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, $19

4. Get the Glow

Complete the eyes with falsies to fill in and compliment the real lashes. Next, using a blush brush apply a peachy-pink, satin finish blush on the apples of the cheeks. Next, apply a matte powder bronzer on the contour areas to re-define the previous contour and then using a separate brush add a subtle golden highlighter to the high points of the face which were formerly highlighted. This creates a beautiful “glow” indicative of healthy skin that radiates from within. Finish the look by lining and filling in the lips with a burgundy lip liner and top the lips off with a creamy burgundy lipstick.

Products:

Ardell Demi Wispies Lashes, $4
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, $8
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar & Bronze Glow, $68
Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte By Kate Moss in 107, $6
MAC Burgundy Lip Liner, $16

5 Amazing Overnight Beauty Face Masks

I’ll admit I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to my skin care nighttime ritual. It usually involves deep cleansing with a beauty balm, massage with an essential oil blend, toning, night cream, eye cream, hydration mist and a few times per week, an overnight beauty mask. Can you blame a girl for wanting to wake up looking gorgeous?

I’m always looking for multitasking products that will give me an insanely moisturized, soft, glow-y complexion and I’ve found 5 amazing masks that work while you sleep! No special skills required, except slathering it on and waking up gorg. Here’s everything you need to know about the laziest way get to fabulous, radiant skin.

overnight-beauty-masks

1. fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask $92

This is an intensely moisturizing overnight treatment that works in sync with the skin’s natural nighttime recovery process to achieve a lifted, firmer look by the morning. With ingredients like Kombucha, lychee and blackberry it is a powerful free-radical fighting antioxidant (fights off environmental skin agers like smoke and pollution) combination that also makes for a super-effective anti-aging formula. It also contains hyaluronic acid which helps attract and trap moisture in the skin. This is my absolute go-to mask, when I want to look 5 years younger (which is always) or when I have a special event to attend. The result is super soft, hydrated, firm skin.

2. The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask, $23

For as long as I can remember I’ve been dealing with the roller coaster that is combination skin. To add insult to injury, add adult acne and occasional rosacea flare ups to the mix. The result is dry, dehydrated, flaky, irritated, red, oily skin. Yes. That’s right. Dry and oily all in one. Fabulous right? Not really…

When I first tried this mask I had NO IDEA it was an amazing acne healer. With organic soya oil and vitamin E as the primary ingredients, this mask delivers spa quality results. Soya oil has moisturizing and healing properties that make it ideal for intensive skin care treatments. Vitamin E conditions, nourishes, and protects the skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and healthy. This mask is a must whenever I get a breakout or when my skin feels depleted and dehydrated.

3. Freeman Honeydew and Chamomile Sleeping Mask, $2

This is my budget find. If you’re a reader of this blog then you know that I love freeman beauty masks, especially the single serve pouches like this one. This mask delivers high quality results for two bucks! It is packed with antioxidant-rich honeydew and calming chamomile, rejuvenating your skin while you sleep. I found it to be especially soothing and hydrating for the drier parts of my skin. So I would say it is well suited for dry skin. The best part is that these single serve pouches are awesome for travelling. I usually pick up my favorites and always bring them with me whenever I travel, to pamper my skin from all the different climatic changes. You can read about my other favorites here.

4. AmorePacific Moisture Bound Sleeping Recovery Mask, $60

I was super excited to try this mask from AmorePacific, since they make my favorite cushion foundation ever. This mask feels like such a luxurious treatment. It is so yummy it eliminates the need for your usual night cream altogether. It is formulated with 5-Hydra Complex™, a potent blend of Asian botanicals that delivers maximum hydration and fortifies skin’s natural protective barrier as you sleep. Their exclusive Self-Transforming Technology™ ensures that skin maintains maximum moisture overnight. It is also formulated without parabens or sulfates making it excellent for sensitive skin. The result is plump, hydrated, smooth skin that looks amazing with or without makeup. Every time I use this I get so many compliments on my skin. It truly delivers that glow factor.

5. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque, $35

When everything seems to irritate my skin, I turn to Kiehl’s. Why? Because their products are very gentle on super sensitive skins like mine due to the omission of parabens, fragrance and colorants. This mask is my go to after a looong night of partying. It helps to instantly boost skin’s ability to absorb and hold moisture for long-lasting hydration and glacial proteins and desert plants leave skin smooth, soft, refreshed and supple. It is also my must-use product when my skin misbehaves and I end up with rosacea flare ups.

What’s your nighttime beauty ritual to keep your skin looking fab?

How to Fill In Tweezed Eyebrows https://new.chantalsauvignon.com/how-to-fill-in-over-tweezed-eyebrows/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-fill-in-over-tweezed-eyebrows Mon, 18 Feb 2019 21:45:26 +0000 http://new.chantalsauvignon.com/?p=394 The post How to Fill In Tweezed Eyebrows appeared first on Chantal Sauvignon.

]]>
When I was 13 my mom took me in to get my eyebrows waxed for the very first time. Up until then, my older sister Tiffany had usually tweezed them for me. She usually “cleaned up” my barely there dark blonde eyebrows leaving me with a pretty decent shape. I insisted that I wanted to try waxing since all my junior high friends were doing it at the time. So we went in and the lady who waxed me forever changed my mind about it.

She destroyed my shape and gave me “chola” eyebrows. For those of you who don’t know what chola means, it is a reference to female gang members of the west coast, whose eyebrows are usually shaved off completely and then penciled in super thin with a black pencil or tattooed, giving the oh-so lovely sharpie eyebrow effect. Mine were simply thin. Barely there to be exact. They were light to begin with and then horribly thin.

To add insult to injury, I had never experimented with filling them in because I was–well, 13. I went home in tears and vowed to never wax again. The worse part is that it took about 8 months for the eyebrows to “sort of” come back in and they were truly never the same. Till today, they remain looking sparse and over tweezed.

I’ve since mastered the art of creating my eyebrows everyday and have gone through many different styles including drag-ish looking ones back in the 90’s. With all things 90’s making a hellish comeback including Instagram’s own “eyebrows on fleek”, which are drag inspired, super drawn on eyebrows, I’m on a mission to teach women to create natural-looking, soft, face-framing eyebrows that look like the real deal. Eyebrows NOT on fleek, so to speak. Not only is the trend harsh and a bit cartoony, the expression “on fleek” makes my stomach turn twice. What the hell does that even mean!?

If you cringe at the expression “on fleek” and want to learn how to fill in your over tweezed eyebrows, keep on reading.

Steps 1 – 2: Begin choosing your product of choice. I am using MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde. I like it because it is long lasting and has a powder finish. You can use a pencil or an eyebrow powder if that is your preference. Also, make sure to go one shade lighter than your natural hair color which is usually the most visually flattering. The only exception here is if you’re platinum blonde, where darker eyebrows usually look better. Next, brush your eyebrow hairs up using an eyebrow brush. This helps to get a clear view of all your “bald” spots that will require filling in.

Steps 3 – 4: Next, start adding definition by making short, feathery strokes with a brow brush. I love the MAC 208 Angled Brow Brush because it is nice and stiff. These strokes should look like hairs not a harsh line. Continue making short strokes until you’ve reached a desired shape.

Steps 5 – 6: Start to create your arch. The best way to determine where the highest point of the brow should be is to take a brush and measure from the tip of your nose across to the middle of your eye’s iris. This will give you the most flattering arch placement. The arch will help my eyes look slightly lifted and more open. Elongate the “tail” of the brow slightly to create symmetry.

Steps 7 – 8: Continue shaping the arch until you’ve reached a desired shape. The key is to take short strokes to create the effect of hair and add definition. Set with an eyebrow gel to lock in that shape and keep your hairs in place. I’ve chosen Benefit’s Gimme brow in Light/Medium because this product deposits small fibers that create the look of hair, but you can also use a clear one.

Steps 9 – 10: Once you’ve achieved your desired shape, take a q-tip and clean up any areas that may need correcting. The goal here is not super sharp brows, just nicely shaped. Run a clean mascara wand or brow spooly (step 10) over the brows to further blend any overdrawn areas. Doing this will give you the most natural looking brows.

Here is the final look. If you look closely, you will see what seem to be brow hairs, not drawn on heavy brows. This is the effect I like for my brows. It looks natural and soft. What are your favorite brow looks?

When it comes to nail polish, it’s so hard to break away from your favorite shades, the classic nude or vampy red you’ve been wearing forever. But Spring is finally here and it is time to experiment with some new fresh colors to change our moods from frigid to caliente! Enter the new Kylie Jenner limited edition collaboration with none other than SinfulColors.

The dream team plans to release 3 limited-edition nail polish collections, the first of which, King Kyle Collection is what I’ve reviewed for you and is already in stores. Needless to say, this could be one of the biggest nail polish collabos we’ve seen in a LONG TIME. Why? well, because it’s Kylie Jenner.

The collection comes in 20 luxurious shades of beautiful jewel tones offset by alluring neutrals and precious metallics as well as a top coat, all featuring SinfulColors SinfulShine two-step faux gel formula that many nail polish addicts know and love.

As a self-professed manicure-aholic I have to say that I’m very impressed with the quality of these polishes. The colors are truly gorgeous. They are long lasting and super opaque, none that I tried are sheer or streaky. The best part, besides durability is the fast drying factor, because let’s face it, no one wants to wait around for 10 hours for nail polish to dry.

If that doesn’t make you run to the stores to grab these, perhaps the price will. These will only set you back $2.99 and are available at retailers including Walmart, Walgreens, Target and others. Here, see the new shades for yourself and be sure to keep your eyes open—I’m sure snagging a kit for yourself will be difficult as these are hot, but limited edition.

With all the graduation parties and summer right around the corner, it is only natural that you’re planning a celebratory getaway. Let’s see…I’m thinking cocktails in the white, silky sands of the Caribbean all while getting a gorgeous, sun-kissed glow laying out in the sun (while wearing my SPF, of course) and then dancing the night away to the intoxicating Caribbean beats of drums in a flowy, vintage Yves St. Laurent Caftan. Dreamy.

Of course, no ensemble is complete without the right makeup look. When it comes to summer my approach for makeup is less is more and bring on the waterproof. Summer every where is hot, muggy, sticky and uncomfortable and that’s what your makeup shouldn’t be. Here are my top 10 summer beauty products to keep you looking fresh and gorg from beach to party. Bon Voyage!

1. AmorePacific Color Control Cushion Compact- $60
You’ve heard me rave on and on about this product. I ABSOLUTELY love this cushion compact foundation. It is so damn luxe! It evens out my skin, all while providing hydration, which is essential in the summer because my skin gets super dehydrated, it protects me from the harmful rays of the sun with a powerful SPF 50 and provides just enough coverage to keep me looking fresh and pulled together without looking like I’m wearing too much makeup.

2. Benefit Cosmetics Sun Beam- $26
The best way to describe this product is sunshine in a bottle. You know that look you crave from when you went on vacation and your skin just glistened with health and radiance? Well, that’s exactly what this product does. It makes your skin glisten like it’s lit from within giving you a gorgeous and sun-kissed complexion. Enough said.

3. MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde- $16
This is another product I can talk about all day. I love this because it’s waterproof (so those of us with barely there eyebrows can go in the water with no issues…) and when applied correctly it looks very natural. Also, it is perfect for summer getaways because you don’t have to worry about the dreaded greasy brow or the brows melting off in the heat. Wanna see it in action? Go here.

4. Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil- $28
Ok, so if you follow this blog you know that I spend a RIDICULOUS amount of money on my hair. From color to highlights to haircuts, I spend enough to pay off a car note every couple of months. When your hair maintenance is the equivalent of a car payment, it is only fair to protect that investment. Anytime I’m anywhere near the sun for a prolonged period of time, I spray this concoction on my strands to protect it from fading, dryness and damage. It’s UVA/UVB filter is lightweight, water-resistant and protects hair from sun exposure for up to 16 hours. Plus, it contains organic shea butter, palm and coconut oils to condition and detangle your mane.

5. Essie Summer 2015 Collection in Peach side babe- $8.50
I’ve been wearing the hell out of all things orange all through spring and I’m pretty sure it will transcend into summer. This color screams summer vacation and it goes with everything.

6. Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hr Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze- $6
This product is one I reach for almost daily. Chances are if we hang out, this is what I’m wearing. It mimics the gold flecks in my eyes beautifully and stays on all day. The texture is creamy and blendable. It is super pigmented and the color has just enough shimmer to make your eyes sparkle.

7. Vichy Thermal Spa Water- $9.50
This hydrating and soothing spa water is fortified with antioxidants and minerals to protect the skin from environmental damage. It is also amazing to refresh and soothe your skin on a hot summer’s day.

8. Mirabella Sun After Sun Aloe Gel- $20
Why use regular drugstore aloe gels when you can indulge in this one infused with vitamin E? Its luxurious blend soothes sunburned, irritated skin leaving you refreshed and hydrated. It also helps to extend your tan with regular use to prevent peeling. The best part: hypoallergenic, alcohol-free and paraben-free.

9. Tarte Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen Lotion- $32

I despise the smell of sunscreen and have a horrible sensitivity to parabens. This is a non-chemical sunscreen for all you sensitive ladies. It is a lightweight, non-sticky liquid lotion that contains all-mineral, non-chemical and broad spectrum SPF 30 ingredients that help protect against the sun’s damaging UVA/UVB rays that can cause dryness, redness, dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. I wear this under my foundation and my skin looks radiant. It is formulated without parabens and phthalates.

10. Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara- $7
This is one of my favorite mascaras and for good reason. It gives the illusion of falsies! The Spoon brush and Kera-fiber formula instantly build 8x more volume without clumping to complete the false lash look. In addition, the waterproof formula delivers flake-free longevity for even the hottest of days.

There you have it! What are your favorite makeup products for going on vacay?
